Community Football League 2016/17 Season Summary:
After finishing runner up and missing out on the League and Cup the previous season, Aberfeldy FC came back stronger this season and won the League Cup Double in dramatic fashion.
After a great start to the season from Aberfeldy FC in the league, a nervy few games in the middle of the season allowed Autochthonus FC to chase Aberfeldy FC at the top of the table. With a handful of games to go, there were only 3 points between the two clubs but Aberfeldy FC showed resilience and quality to win their first Premier Division League Title.
The top two teams in the league also met in the CFL Cup Final at Dagenham & Redbridge Stadium which was fiercely contested. At 1-1, both teams were creating chance after chance. With minutes to play, Codey Cameron of Aberfeldy FC fired in a free kick form 25 yards to seal the League Cup double for Aberfeldy FC.
