The Bangladesh Football Association (BFA) is an umbrella organisation and represents 42 football teams from all over Greater London.  BFA organises football leagues and tournaments for the Bangladeshi community at local, regional and national level.  It supports member teams with capacity building to enable them to develop and provide better services to their users.  

Amongst its many roles, BFA is committed to challenging the under-representation of Asians in mainstream football via its representative team Sporting Bengal United FC.  BFA contributes to reports, discussions and meetings organised by the FA and other bodies about Asians in Football. Read more..

BFA Players Selected For Bangladesh Squad

 

Two Players from Sporting Bengal have been selected to play for and represent the Bangladeshi National Squad. New Bangladesh National Team Coach Zoran Djordjevic yesterday declared a 39-member preliminary squad for the residential camp for the South Asian Games to be held in Bangladesh. He also informed that two British-born Bangladeshi's -- Sarwar Ahmed and Shiblu Mia-- will join the camp. Read more..

BFA Awards Ceremony 2009

This year the awards ceremony was held at the LMC on 23rd November 2009. Every year a gala presentation ceremony is held to recognise the personal achievement and sporting excellence of young people from the different BFA projects.  It is important that young people are rewarded for their hard work and effort.  Community workers and volunteers are also rewarded for their commitment and time to the community.

BFA Summer League - Starting Soon

The Summer League started in 1997 with 8 teams and after a decade has 42 teams competing in 4 divisions, with over 1000 people taking part.  The main aim of the Summer League was to provide diversionary activities for local young Bangladeshi people during the holiday period. Many were getting into anti-social behaviour, petty crime, drugs and vandalism.  It was also to unify the community and bring the young people together as there were high incidents of horrific gang violence between the different estates.
